Acer Announces Two New Iconia Series Android Lollipop Tablets With Quad-Core Intel Atom SoCs

The announcement was just made by Acer of its wide array of new products at a press conference in New York, where it has announced the launch of the Acer Liquid X2 tablet for the US, which is a tri-SIM slate packs a 5.5-inch display, 64-bit Octa-Core CPU, 13MP primary camera and a massive 4000mAh battery. Acer also be offering Quick Flip covers for the buyers of Liquid X2 as well.


And apart this Acer Computers has also introduced two new Iconia One 8 (B1-820) and the Iconia Tab 10 (A3-A30) in New York, alongside teased a third slate – the gaming-center Acer Predator Tablet as well.

Both the tablets are powered by an Intel Atom quad-core processors, runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop, and sports 5MP rear camera with 88-degree wide angle lens on-board.

The Acer Iconia 8 B1-820 is a budget range has a 8-inch HD IPS display based on Zero Air Gap technology, 1.8GHz quad-core Z3735G CPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB / 32GB of internal storage with expandable microSD card support, VGA front-facing camera, offers WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and packs a 4,000mAh battery, rated to deliver up to 8.5 hours of battery life.


Key features on the Iconia 8 B1-820 are, it has Iconia Suite with EZ apps such as EZ Note, EZ WakeUp, EZ Snap and EZ Gadget – lets you customize tasks with touch gestures and Quick access icons and it will come in a large selection of 10 colors.

The Acer Iconia Tab 10 A3-A30 is specifically designed with a goal in mind, tends to be set to join the Google Educational ecosystem. It has a large 10.1-inch FHD IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels screen based on Zero Air Gap technology, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, is powered by 1.83GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F processor, paired with 2GB of RAM, available in three storage options, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, which can further expandable up to 64 GB more via microSD card.


It has a 2MP front-facing and a 5-megapixel rear camera and the battery package is backed by the same 4000mAh unit. It also comes with optional stylus, protective film, bumper case, protective sleeve and wireless keyboard dock.

Now the third Acer tablet – called Predator Tablet – which is geared towards the Android gaming market, and it undoubtedly hits big on looks as it comes with four red grills on the front, apparently, all house speakers, and rest of the hardware specs are unknown, expect it to be an 8-inch gaming tablet, and as the Acer hinted that the Predator tablet will also flaunts some kind of haptic feedback and, integrated with much like most console controllers, provides some physical response while game play.


Price & Availability

The Acer Iconia One 8 B1-820 should be available in North America in July with a price tag of $145 and by April in EMEA for €179. The bigger Tab 10 A3-A30 should hit stores in North America in May with a price of $299 and in selected countries in EMEA in May starting from 299 Euros.
