Gionee has although unveiled its flaghsip smartphone Elife E8 in China back in June, has now sent out invites for the official launch in India. On October 8th, it is all set to unveil.
The invitation doesn’t mention the flagship smartphone, though it does give a hint towards what the company plans on launch event, which reads, ‘Block your date for some GR8 news. A new phone launch and a big entry into e-commerce’. So, Gionee will enter into e-commerce space to announce tie-up with a leading e-commerce player in India to sell the smartphone exclusively. It is to be admited that it is not only the Gionee Elife E8 expected to be the major talking point, but also the fact that Gionee India could start retailing its phones online as well.
If it is that then this could also be happening, where the incomplete listing for the Elife E8 with excahnge offer on Flipkart, indicates that Gionee will go with Flipkart first.
Specs-wise, the Gionee Elife E8 features a 6-inch WQHD display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels Super AMOLED at a pixel density of 490ppi, and is powered by a 2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 MT6795 Octa-Core 64-bit Processor coupled with IMG G620 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Storage on-board continues with a 64GB of internal space, which is further expandable via microSD card suppprt (up to 128GB).
On the photography front, it is of course a mammoth it is sporting of 24-megapixel rear cxamera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), dual LED Flash, 1 / 2.3″ sensor, 6P lenses, 4K video recording. Also packs an 8MP front-facing camera for better selfies.
The Gionee Elife E8 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo UI 3.1 skin on top. A daul-SIM handset offers 4G LTE connectivity with Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, GPS, USB OTG, NFC and it is backed by a 3520mAh battery.
Available in Golden color option and in China it costs 3999 RMB, which translates to around Rs 41,000 in India. Or more? Stay tuned.
