It’s now official. Sony’s teaser speaks “it’s coming tomorrow“, and it is the Xperia M5 smartphone hitting the store shelves in India on September 9th. Actually, it was unveiled last month, but finally launching tomorrow.
Specs-wise, the Xperia M5 and M5 Dual packs a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. Under the hood, both are powered by 2.2 GHz MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795T) Octa-Core 64-bit processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage which can further expandable through microSD card support (up to 200GB). They run on Android 5.0 Lollipop, and the Dual SIM only found on M5 Dual. Both supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+ , WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC and are backed by a 2600mAh battery with STAMINA mode.
Camera front, both the M5 and Xiaomi M5 Dual boasts 21.5MP rear camera with IMX230 Exmor RS sensor, f/2.2 aperture, Hybrid AF, LED flash, 4K video recording, and sports a 3MP front-facing camera, Exmor RS sensor, 1080p video recording. The Hybrid Autofocus uses Phase detection AF (PDAF) that delivers faster shutter speed response and Contrast detection AF for crisp and clear, sharp photographs. Are water and dust-proof (certified by IP65/IP68).
