Just after conducting several flash sales freely on Flipkart, Redmi 2 smartphone will now be available offline via Airtel retail stores across India. Apart from Flipkart exclusivity, Xiaomi has also partnered with Airtel in January – to retail Redmi Note 4G offline, and collaborated with The Mobile store to sell Redmi Note and Xiaomi Mi4 afterwards. Recently, it also added Amazon and Snapdeal to the list, breaking the exclusivity with Flipkart as well.
Now that the Xiaomi Redmi 2 will be available to buy on Airtel stores without registrations or pre-books anymore. Interested users can head over to the select Airtel stores to make their purchase offline.
The Redmi 2 specifications goes further over its predecessor Redmi 1S. It sports a 4.7-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS laminated display with a pixel density of 312ppi and protected by Asahi Dragontrail. It is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 chip with 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with Adreno 305 GPU.
The 1GB of RAM coupled Redmi 2 adds 8GB of internal storage, microSD card suppprt up to 32GB extra space. Camera wise, it flaunts 8-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture and 28mm wide-angle lens, houses a 2MP front-facing camera.
The Redmi 2 runs on MIUI 6 based Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box, which it packs a 2200mAh battery unit, which is 10% bigger than its previous version, got QuickCharge 1.0 mode – lets you charge the device 20 percent faster al well.
Connectivity options on the dual-SIM Redmi 2 offers LTE (TDD-LTE Band 40 2300MHz and FDD-LTE Band 3 1800MHz), Wi-Fi, USB OTG, Bluetooth.
