Xolo BLACK Goes Official With 5.5-inch FHD Display, Snapdragon 615 SoC, 13MP Dual-Camera Setup

It’s the Xolo BLACK! Finally shows its face to the smartphone market which the domestic manufacturer took the wraps off the new sub-brand Black smartphone. First device from Xolo with dual-camera setup goes on sale through Flipkart, and the company aims at focusing on its photography and build aesthetics. Priced at Rs 12,999. Xolo Black can be purchased by the customers a day early on Sunday, which is July 12 between 4PM to 8PM on the e-commerce website. Registrations should be made before that, and you to make it before a day midnight. The company has also partnered with Vodafone to provide a bundled SIM offer with 1GB of free data a month for two months, and unlimited Vodafone Music for the same 2 months. Users can also get their hands on the smartphone before their purchase at 100 Vodafone flagship stores across the country.

Now that the specifications on the dual-SIM (Micro/Nano) Xolo Black features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixel) IPS display with a pixel density of 403ppi, oleophobic coating, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, on back as well. The new HIVE Atlas UI has Underground feature to store private apps and data securely. Reading mode that coverts text to black and white for an e-book-like experience and the Comet Browser with data and battery saving features.


It is powered by a 2nd-gen Snapdragon 615 Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core (ARM Cortex A53 – 4×1.5GHz + 4×1.0GHz) processor with Adreno 405 GPU.

The Xolo BLACK runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with HIVE Atlas UI on top. The power key also doubles up as the notification light. It is coupled with  2GB of RAM, and 16GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).

Photography department here n BLACK phone comes with a 13-Megapixel primary camera with LED flash,  5-element lens, F2.0 aperture, which it also enables features like UbiFocus, which lets users refocus on objects even after a photo has been taken, and include ChromaFlash for natural looking colours and skin tones in low light, apart from OptiZoom for enhanced digital zoom using image processing. The company is also touting the Adobe-powered Photo Studio tool that’s integrated in the Xolo Black’s image gallery. Interestingly, its said it packs a twin-camera, which we talk about the 2MP secondary camera for depth sensing, 3-element lens, f/2.4 aperture and houses a 5MP front-facing camera with LED flash, 5-element lens, f/2.0 aperture, a wide-angle lens, and flash as well.


Connectivity option on Xolo Black has Cat.4 LTE support, including support for 4G LTE bands (TDD B40 2300MHz and FDD B3 1800MHz) for India, alongside offers Micro-USB v2.0 with USB OTG functionality; A-GPS; Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. It packs a 3200mAh battery.

Registrations for Xolo Black First customers will commence on Xolo.in from July 10th 4PM till July 11th 8PM. Exclusively available from Flipkart starting from July 13th. And for existing consumers starting from 12th July.
