The Meizu MX5, the company’s latest flagship was made official earlier this week and is currently only available for pre-orders in China. Now that it is up for international pre-orders, where Online retailer Gearbest has started accepting the bookings for the device, and will start ship[ping it in the begenning of 1st of August 2015.
Available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB of internal storage varaints and that too covers its body with a 7.6mm thin structure, weighs at 149 grams, the Meizu MX5 has a 5.5-inch screen covered with Super AMOLED display and runs on FlymeOS 4.5 UI based on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. The metal body has built with magnesium alloy frame, which it brings with it mBlack touch-sensitive Home button, offers different functionalities based on press. With mTouch 2.0 fingerprint recognition tech, the MX4 offers it for payments using mPay.
The MX5 is equipped with the mCharge tech, a fast charging of sorts, which will be able to juice it up to 25% in ten minute’s time only. Topping it off to 50% will require just twenty minutes more. Camera wise, it packs a 20.7MP primary sensor with dual-tone LED flash, 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS, pixel size of 1.2 microns, laser auto focus that promises 0.2 seconds focus and 4K video recording and encodes in the modern h.265 format and houses a 5MP front-facing camera for best selfie shots.
The Meizu MX5 has dual-SIM support with 4G LTE (TD-LTE / LTE-FDD) / 3G HSPA+ , WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS connectivity options. It packs a 3150mAh battery unit and will be available in Gray, Silver and Gold color models.
The retailer is now selling the unlocked MX5 16GB version for $398, which is a good $108 more than the device’s official price. It’s worth mentioning that Meizu hasn’t officially announced any plans to expand the smartphone’s availablility outside China. This would be your best choice you have right now.
