At a launch event in Taiwan, ASUS made official of the ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500M) tablet series, which features a 9.7-inch touchscreen with 4:3 aspect ratio and screen of 2048×1536 pixels resolution similar to what the likes of an iPad and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 sports. With a 5.32mm narrow bezels and 78% screen-to-body ratio, the ZenPad 3S 10 uses a QXGA display.
Rest of the ZenPad 3S 10 specifications includes a hexa-core MediaTek MT8166 chipset clocked at (dual-core 2.1 GHz + quad-core 1.7 GHz) 64bit processor with 650MHz IMG GX6250 processor. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box with Zen UI skin on top.
For the memory and storage options inside ZenPad 3S 10, you will get a 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal space which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. Now that the ZenPad 3S 10 sports an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera supports 1080p video recording and on its front, it carries a 5MP selfie shooter.
This new tablet from ASUS also comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button, has 2x five magnet speakers, DTS Audio, Sonic Master technology. Moreover, the ZenPad 3S 10 becomes the first in its series to have 7.1-cahnnel surround sound, 24-bit / 192kHz Hi-Res Audio and more. It’s only 7.15mm thin and weighs 430 grams. It supports WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 with aptX, USB Type-C port, GPS & GLONASS connectivity options and comes with a massive 5900mAh battery with up to 10 hours of life.
Available in Silver and Grey colors and the ZenPad 3S 10 is priced at NT$10,990 (US$341 / Rs. 22,920 approx.). It will ship in Taiwan starting from August 1st, but no words on its global iteration as yet.
