ASUS has officially introduced ZenWatch 3 with a circular design and multiple looks. At IFA 2016 in Berlin, Asus joins the round Android Wear watch party, has also abandoned its square smartwatch roots in favor of the all-new round ZenWatch 3.
Announced the latest addition to the family of Android Wear, ZenWatch 3 is fast and round and comes with a much bigger emphasis on design. Asus is hoping it can compete with the likes of Motorla, LG and Huawei a run for their majority and of course, money in the looks department by offering a round-shaped watch fashioned from jewellery-grade 316 stainless steel and a diamond cut bezel.
Less than 10mm thick, the ZenWatch 3 comes in different styles too including rose gold, gunmetal and silver color variants. Those improved looks extend to the straps as well with the watch set to be available with an Italian leather or high-quality rubber band in dark brown or beige shades.
While ASUS brought its latest ZenWatch 3 to fans attention today, the wearable market has really begun to bustle, with technology advancements being made rather quickly.
ASUS ZenWatch 3 Specs
The ZenWatch 3 looks to appeal to the fashion conscious individual looking for an intelligent Android Wear-based wristwatch. Now sports a circular 1.39-inch AMOLED display paired with 400-by-400 pixels resolution. The watch offers personalization in the form of interchangeable watch straps that allows consumers to customize or transform their experience to their own tastes. Plenty of stylized watch faces are already been offered by Asus. Included six different watch themes and 50 exclusive designer faces that support customizable widgets. And also launching a FaceDesigner app letting you create your own watch face if you don’t fancy what it’s served up.
The ZenWatch 3 offers IP67 water resistance, HyperCharge tech that allows the watch to be charged up to 60-percent in 15 minutes, ensuring that owners don’t have to wait around for it to spring back to life when fully depleted. All of your notifications are controlled from the ZenWatch Manager smartphone app, while the new ZenFit fitness tracking platform will record the whole workouts including running.
In terms of battery life, you can expect to get two days from the 341mAh package. The watch comes bundled with a portable magnetic charger that clips onto the back of the ZenWatch 3 and can give you an additional 40% of life.
With prices starting from around the $250/€229 mark, the ZenWatch 3 is expected to arrive in the US and UK and other countries in October release date.
