Finally after months of testing and releasing unofficial builds in beta, the Cyanogen team has today released the official CM12.1 nightly builds. Download links rolling out for the two most popular MIUI-based Xiaomi Mi 4 and Mi3 handsets.
The builds of CyanogenMod 12.1 are purely based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and that includes a bunch of new inclusions, performance enhancements, customization tweaks and other improvements brings the better experience of using the custom ROM OS.
Official builds of the CM12.1 ROM for Mi 3 and Mi 4 have just been released, so they are bound to be plagued with some bugs and perforamnce issues. Initial report suggests, that early adoters indicate that the ROM currently does not support LTE on the WCDMA variant of Mi4 and is obviously known to reboot randomly sometimes. Soon the issues like such will be sorted very early.
The Xiaomi Mi3 and Mi4 both running on Android KitKat based MIUI 6, and today they will be getting a Global MIUI 7 ROM, but in developer mode. It’s unclear if the base OS will be upgraded to Lollipop or not, and if you are anxiously waiating to taste the flavor of Lollipop on your Mi4 and Mi3, make sure to try out the latest CyanogenMod OS 12.1 nightly for the devices right now.
