Gionee Elife E8 LTE Phone Official Now With 6-inch QHD Display, 24MP Camera, Fingerprint Sensor

Details regarding to the newly announced Gionee Elife E8 is now official. Specifications wise it has a 6-inch qHD (2560x1440px) AMOLED display, which implemented with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. This Gionee smartphone was the most highly-awaited devices from the company’s Elife E series segment. Rumored several times and now, finally comes with flagship key features and especially focuses on photography. Unveiled alongside the dual-Battery Cell powered mammoth device, Gionee Marathon M5 with 6020mAh battery package.

For deep black and vivid colors, Elife E8 was the centerpiece of the annoncement at products launch in Beijing. Under the hood, the Elife E8 is powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 chipset with an 2GHz Octa-Core (MT6795) processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU. Coupled with 3GB of RAM, also includes an expandable microSD card whicxh already comes buit-in of 64GB of internal storage space. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo UI 3.1 out of the box.

Camera department on the Elife E8 wuld be the highlight and impressively posing a 24MP primary sensor offers the highest pixel count currently in a major smartphone, and even when compared to Nokia Lumi 1020 of course and is almost equivalant to the ancient Nokia PureView 808. Software tricks allow it to produce images up to a jaw-dropping 120MP resolution. With dual tone LED Flash, 1 / 2.3″ sensor, 6P lenses, OIS, 4K video recording, Elife E8 is to be sitting on top 5 best camera-focused smartphones range in the world. Apps takes just 0.8s to launch and there’s phase detection autofocus which Gionee claims focuses in 0.08s to 0.2s. The sensor sits behind a six-element lens with sapphire glass front element. Whereas the optical image stabilization is able to correct for shakes up to 1.5-degrees in angle.

The smartphone also has a ‘biological’ fingerprint reader, but details of type and placement are still not known. It has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The Elife E8 has NXP Smart PA audio chip and stereo speakers with DTS support.  Connectivity options on the phone includes a daul-SIM, offers 4G LTE support in both the slots, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, GPS, USB OTG.

Unfortunately, the Ginee Elife E8 only packs a 3520mAh battery, and not like the Marathon M5’s 6020mAh unit. Priced at 3999 Chinese Yuan ( US$ 644). Goes on sale in China starting 15th of July. The Elife E8 launches in India in August, almost at a price of Rs 41118. Stay tuned!
