You can now download the latest version 6.0.5 of Google Play Store APK which although brings with it a bunch of changes and bug fixes. This new release of Play Store APK version 6.0.5 also includes two sections: Apps & Games and Entertinment. One of which shows up all of the apps and games that you might want to install, and the other plays host to things like movies, music and books. Notably, having apps share the same store as books has always been an odd idea to us, so we’re all for the particular change. Get the latest updated link with latest version right below this post.
After splitting of the store in two, Google Play Store now behaves better on your device, responding to taps and swipes more quickly and generally looking much more like an app that you would want to spend some time browsing rather than desperately trying to jump in and out of as quickly as in humanly possible.
Version 6.0.5 of Play Store have changed under the hood as well. Fire up the APK app and you will instantly recognize the subtle changes and tweaks in user interface here and there.
Changes made for the two new sections Apps & Games and Entertainment, can be seen in the screenshots below.
Update should start rolling out to users over the course of the next few days, but it may take longer depending on the device you have, the Android version it is running, and the region you are in.
Nevertheless, if you don’t want to wait for that update to hit your device, you can grab the APK of this new version of Google Play store from the link at the foot of this post, side-load it, and give it a run. As expected, it is compatible and ready for Android 6.0 Marshmallow or ROM ports based on the 6.0 images.
