The highly-anticipated Lenovo Vibe S1 has just been launched in India that too with a stunning design which captures your imagination with gorgeous specs and price-tag that is under Rs 16,000. As it promised earlier, the Vibe S1 becomes official in the country and we’ll speak about its complete features and specifications.
Lenovo itself is keen in introducing its range of smartphones into the market, and after unveiling the Vibe P1 series for a battery concious audience, the Chinese manufacturer is now going after those who crave for some genuine design with the Vibe S1.
First impression of the new Vibe S1 would be its great design architecture that sets it apart from anything Lenovo has produced till now. With a curved-glass back and has an impressive blue colour texture. It comes with distinct 12 machine-drilled speaker grills and unibidy design.
Display on the phone front is dominated by the 5-inch screen along with a dual front-facing selfie camera, receiver, light sensor and Android navigation buttons, which are not backlit but could disappoint many buyers. From the rear of the device is curved like Motorola’s 2013 Moto X and garnered curved Corning Gorilla Glass protection, and the use of glass at the back makes it more attractive. With a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels which translates to impressive pixel density of 441ppi. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and offers nice viewing angles.
The Vibe S1 also makes sense with the fingerprint magnet and slippery, but to cover it up, Lenovo has added a transparent back panel right out of the box. There’s a 13-megapixel rear camera, LED flash, Vibe and relatively smaller Lenovo branding round out the back side of the device. Hosts the power button and volume rocker while the left side is home to dual Nano-SIM or Nano SIM and microSD slot tray. There’s a headphone jack placed at the top while the microUSB slot is at the bottom.
The Vibe S1 is not very thin, but measures in at 7.8mm it offers a solid grip and nicely fits in your palm. At 132 grams, the smartphone is very easy to carry while you on the go. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor clocked at 1.69GHz. The device comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB. It is backed by a 2500mAh battery with a standby time of 240 hours. This is a dual-SIM device which supports 4G LTE bands.
The highlight of Vibe S1 is the USP of this phone is the dual 8MP and 2MP front camera. The 8MP camera is meant to focus the subject, the second 2MP camera is meant for capturing depth. It’s exactly the same concept HTC tried with its One series flagship smartphone last year.
Lenovo Vibe S1 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Lenovo’s not so appealing Vibe UI on top. Lenovo has added accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, gyroscope and gravity sensor to the mix.
