Officially, Gionee is all set to introduce its next-gen Elife S series smartphone on November 16, but before that announcement, it shows its face hands-on. From the Chinese company’s own teasers, the new handset, Elife S6 is shaping up to be very similar to the S Plus that recently been made official in India, except it comes with less RAM and a purely new and different design, employing metal on-board.
Leaked Gionee Elife S6 photos were outed juts three days away from the big houseful unveil, someone in China understandably managed to get their hands on the new hardware and processed to shoot a couple of blurry pictures of it.
Specs-wise, the smartphone has a metal build and it looks like a Gold variant, and the S6 will have a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Under the heart of the Elife S6, Gionee has bundled with a powerful 1.3GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6753 processor. Availability of the device will go on sale in two models, one with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and the other with 3GB RAM and 32GB of built-in space.
Camera department on the Elife S6 is said to be sporting with a 13-megapixel sensor with LED flash and on its front, it gonna be a 5MP selfie-centric shooter. Obviously, the S6 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and have full support for 4G LTE connectivity options, and is backed by a 3150mAh battery package. While it measures in at 6.9mm thin and it weighs at 145.2 grams.
Pricing details are expected like this. The base model should start at CNY 1,799, which right now means $282 or €263. Stay tuned for the Gionee Elife S6 official launch date on Nov. 16, 2015.
