It’s the second version of Meizu Blue Charm (aka Meizu m2 Note) and the successor to the m1 Note goes official. The Meizu pahblet is built around a 5.5-inch 1080p FullHD display, which deploys a Sharp-made IGZO panel, which the giant claims a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 450 nits of brightness, AUO with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Under the hood, it is powered by a 64-bit Octa-Core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 Processor with eight Cortex-A53 64-bit CPUs with Mali-T720 MP3 GPU ticking at 450MHz. A dual SIM support with 4G TD/FDD-LTE in both the SIMs for a wider range of bands for a global 4G coverage. The Cat.4 LTE promises download speeds up to 150Mbps.
The m2 Note indeed gets a microSD card slot to expand (up to 128GB) your phone’s storage space and internal ROM available at16GB /32GB memory. First SIM can also be converted into a SD card slot either. It has a new mBlack touch-sensitive home button that offers a variety of options depending on how hard you press it. Apparently, it works like a back button with soft press and acts as home button with hard press.
RAM on the m2 Note remains at the 2GB DDR3 as similar to its predecessor and once again speking of the Hybrid Dual SIM (first SIM can be transformed into a microSD slot) and it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop based Flyme OS skin on top.
Camera wise, the m2 Note sports a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, 5P lenses, f/2.2 aperture, which uses a Samsung-made CMOS sensor, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. One the phone’s front side, you get a 5MP OmniVision 5670 sensor, 4P lenses, f/2.0 aperture, 69-degree wide viewing angle.
Design of the m2 Note is is the body that is mostly the same glossy polycorbonate affair, but few design tweaks promise improvements in user interface. As oft-mentioned, the power button has now been moved a little to the side for easier access and the capacitive home button has made way for a physical button. Control layout specssheet calls it an “mBlack” button. Dimensions wise, the m2 Note mesaures 150.9 x 75.2 x 8.7mm and weighs 149 grams.
Battery package on the m2 Note has also marginally lowered, but it packs a 3100mAh unit, is a massive power of life. Connectivity options apart from 4G on m2 Note offers 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (dual band), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS.
Available colors of the Meizu m2 Note are in Grey, Blue, Pink, and White options. Priced equally to the predecessor at CNY999 (~$160) for 32GB variant. The 16GB m2 Note model starts at 799 Yuan ( US$ 129 / Rs. 8220 in India). Pre-orders starts in China through the official Meizu website and JD.com from today.
