Nokia is all set to unveil a new series of Android smartphone at MWC 2017, called Nokia 8, which has already finds its place on a Chinese website today. The newly leaked Nokia 8 ahead of its launch also reveals price information, specifications, images and much more. Here are the details.
A new Nokia smartphone has been spotted on the Chinese e-commerce portal, which is up for pre-registrations. The purported Nokia 8 is now listed on JD.com in China and comes with a tag of CNY 3.188 (around Rs. 31,000). Based on the website listing, it’s hard to confirm the authenticity of the online placeholder part of the Nokia 8.
This happened less than a week slotted by HMD Global on Sunday, the e-commerce listing of the Nokia smartphone tips that we can expect the official announcement. The images accompanied in the online listing appear to show concept renders of a new Nokia device with near bezel-less display.
Now, the upcoming Nokia 8 smartphone surfaced on China’s major e-commerce site Jingdong, the hansdet is said to be available in two color choices of Black and Grey. Product listing shows up the Nokia 8 featuring a circular rear camera component as well. Unfortunately, the listing didn’t mention its official specs or how soon the product will be available.
Pre-orders are up for the Nokia 8 on the website, other than that only one image of the product shown, which resembles the leaked concept render of the smartphone.
The Nokia 8 smartphone could feature a rather regular-looking design with narrow side bezels and a slim profile. Screen-size of the Nokia 8 indicate at a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display, offering QHD 2560-by-1440 pixels resolution. Under-the-hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, well, we have a good idae that Samsung’s Galaxy S8 would be the first one to get that processor, it seems that Nokia 8 to get it too early.
The HMD Global have another choice, instead pack a Snapdragon 821 SoC rather than going with the SD-835 chip on Nokia 8. There’s no hint on RAM memory, but it is expected to be available in 64GB and 128GB storage variants. Both the models are likely to come with a dedicated microSD card (expandable up to 256GB).
Rest of the Nokia 8 specifications include the 24-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and super Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). For selfies, the smartphone carries a 12-megapixel front-facing camera sensor. On the software part, Nokia 8 is expected to run on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
Rumors also suggest that the HMD Global will introduce Nokia 8 at this years Mobile World Congress (MWC 2017), and widely expected to announce other smartphones such as Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and a modern version of the Nokia 3310. All of the above mentioned smartphones will join the official Nokia 6 of this year.
