Talking about the new 2015 version of Oppo Neo 5, debuts as the company’s latest smartphone in Neo series. Just after introducing the smartphone globally last week, Oppo today launched it in India. To remind you its not the Oppo Neo 5s, which introduced last week, and not got any information of its debut in India as yet.
This Neo 5 (2015) edition features slightly improved specifications when compared to last year’s original predecessor Neo 5. Oppo handset runs Color OS 2.0.1i based on Android 4.4.2 Lollipop and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor coupled with Mali-400MP2 GPU.
The dual-SIM smartphone comes with dual standby mode supports one Micro-SIM card and another Nano-SIM. The Oppo Neo 5 features 4.5-inch (480×854 pixel) IPS display with a pixel density of 219ppi and Dragon Trail Glass protection.
Photography wise, the 2015 variant of Neo 5 sports a 8-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX179 BSI sensor and a f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. The company is touting easy screenshot capturing with three finger swipe, screen-off gestures, Beautify 3.0 image editing mode, double exposure for overlapping two images, Pure Image 2.0+ image creation engine, and double layer metallic structure.
RAM on Neo 5 (2015) goes with 1GB of memory and 8GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card support. Connectivity options includes 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth. It packs a 2000mAh battery which is non-removable one, measures at 131.9×65.5x8mm, and weighs 135 grams and has a glass back.
