Samsung has made an all-new clamshell smartphone official in China and that too with a decent Galaxy S6-inspired design and touts powerful specs and more. Leaked several times before going into its show and finally today took the wraps of Samsung W2016.
It is Samsung W2016 – a flip phone which raised its hands as coming with a premium build features, which includes a dual 3.9-inch Super AMOLED display,a 16MP rear camera with LED flash, a 5MP selfie shooter, it is powered by an Octa-Core (Quad 2.1GHz + Quad 1.5GHz) Exynos 7420 processor at the heart. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
What’s more impressive is that the SM-W2016 is paired with 3GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and comes the metal frame, glass back – similar to the S6 series of smartphones. Listed on Samsung’s official website in China, as a dual-SIM phone 4G+, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2X2 MIMO), Bluetooth 4.2 LE & apt-X. It is backed by a 2000mAh battery with Fast Charging capabilities (wired-wireless).
The Samsung W2016 will go on sale in two colours – Silver and Golden. It’s said to cost a whopping CNY 9,999, which is $1,565 or €1,470 at the current exchange rates. For now, it’s only out in China and only for China Mobile. Expected to see it live in other international markets, very soon.
