Well we aren’t sure what the new OnePlus X would be minimally codenamed and debuts, but by the end of 2015, we’ll be witnessing the unveil of a new, even more affordable device and that’s for sure. This has been confirmed many times by the Chinese company’s outfit, but yet Executives haven’t disclosed any information about the forthcoming device’s specs. Although, the upcoming OnePlus mini smartphone surfaced on AnTuTu last month and today, another source has got hold on its details, regarding the release date timeframe as well.
With that said, the alleged specifications of the new rumored OnePlus device seamingly reveal all its innards, and these information comes from an anonymous source, and such should not be considered as official. The source itself suggests that these details are from a prototype that is already two months old, which makes sense that certain hardware keys may have changed in the meantime.
The new leak merge with earlier ones discovered on AnTuTu benchmarks and here’s what it reveals. The OnePlus Mini will have a 5-inch touchscreen (with 1080p resolution and 2.5D Gorilla Glass on top) or 4 with Oleophobic and hydrophobic coating. It will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio X10 chipset (MT6795T), which comes with a 2.2 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU.
2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage with support for eMMC 5.0 expandable storage are in, but there’s no dual-camera setup. On the back we’ll see a 13MP unit with a Sony IMX258 sensor with f/2.0 aperture, complemented with a dual-tone LED flash. Selfie shooter it is allotted with a 5MP resolution and will be wide-angle variety in order to fit as many people into your “groufies” as possible.
The OnePlus Mini is said to pack an USB Type-C connector with fast charging (might be limited to USB 2.0 speeds) and a fingerprint sensor on the back, unlike in the more premium OnePlus 2. Supports NFC and an IR blaster, both of which will be equipped into the OnePlus Mini despite not having made it to the bigger device.
In terms of the OnePlus Mini audio, it will also have a 1.2W front-facing speaker, an FM radio, and IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. Its shell will be plastic and runs on Android Lollipop with Oxygen OS. The battery capacity is said to be 3,000 or 3,100 mAh. We can only expect dual SIM support like the OnePlus 2, even though the leak doesn’t confirm it.
