I was a big fan of Sony VAIO Walkman series smartphones in the past and since it was disappeared from the mobile market, but VAIO brand was once a part of Sony‘s vast majority of enterprise phones. After all lomg time now, VAIO will be apparently making its appearance once again into the market.
A new VAIO branded smartphones are expected on March 12 announcement. As it turns out Sony did not entirely part with the brand and currently holds about 5% of its shares, so this may not sound like much, but is enough grounds to pump up a partnership between the companies, which, as far speculated, has already resulted in the upcoming device.
Although the mysterious new handset has already popped up in a benchmark, offering some highly-anticipated proof as well asa a glimpse at its hardware specs. How the device is part of Sony, which to be seen and part Vaya, will probably a lot of resemblance to the Xperia line.
According to the rumor, the VAIO phone will be powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 Soc clocked at 1.2 GHz CPU. It will sport a 5-inch 720p HD display and a decent camera setup considering to a 13-megapixel primary and a 5MP front-facing shooter. It’s paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB ROM and the unannounced VAIO phone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
