Apple Begins Selling Refurbished iMac Pro Models At 15% Discount, Here Are The Details

The original iMac Pro and its price-tag may have made yourself disappointed but that may not be the case anymore. As of now, Apple is offering discounted iMac Pro models under its certified refurbished scheme, with discounts of up to 15% on offer.

It’s time for those individuals to get their hands on a new product like iMac Pro hits the stores. It’s always been the case, certain third-party vendors take the opportunity to entice customers in with specific discounts and use the product almost as a loss-leader in order to lead the business and then try and upsell additional products or services.

But, that type of discounts only typically is applied to the entry-level iMac Pro, meaning that customers who want to sit at the higher tier of the specification map would need to pay full price ($4,999). This new initiative from Apple resolves that problem.

Apple has added refurbished iMac Pro models to its online store for the first time in the United States and Canada. Consumers have long been able to purchase other discontinued hardware from Apple, such as iPhones, iPads, and even other Mac models. Now that the Cupertino-based company has started offering up iMac Pro as part of this refurbished program, with discounts of up to 15-percent being available on models with 8, 10 or even 18-cores. The “certified refurbished” tag shouldn’t put you off, either.

A selection of 8-core, 10-core, and 18-core configurations are available with various storage, memory, and graphics options, priced between $4,249 and $8,159 in the United States, reflecting savings of 15 percent. All of the refurbished configurations are currently available with next-day delivery.

Apple’s iMac Pros will come with Apple’s standard warranty, AppleCare applied for those who want some additional coverage. Wondering how much discount that could potentially be in the offering? If you discount 15 off the base iPam Pro model, you’d be saving a very nice $450.

While the behemoth 18-core variant, you’ll get an additional $1440.00 sitting in your account rather than in Apple. Like other certified refurbished hardware, Apple offering this type of route to purchase iMac Pro, stock levels are likely to deplete very quickly as Apple doesn’t have an endless inventory of these refurbished units.

The base model iMac Pro with a 3.2GHz eight-core Intel Xeon W processor, 32GB of DDR4 ECC memory, 1TB of SSD storage, and Radeon Pro Vega 56 graphics is available for $4.249, for example, compared to $4,999 brand new.

Apple does say all refurbished iMac Pro models are thoroughly inspected, tested, cleaned, and repackaged with a new box and all manuals and accessories, including a Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad and Magic Mouse 2 in Space Gray. Any refurbished iMac Pro model comes with Apple’s standard one-year warranty effective on the date the computer is delivered.

That warranty for the refurbished iMac Pro models can also be extended to up to three years from the original purchase date with AppleCare+ for iMac, at a cost $169 in the United States, but the plan is unavailable for those from Canada.

All in all, customers can save between $750 and $1,440 on an iMac Pro, but better deals are sometimes offered by third-party sellers. Maybe this 15% discount will give you the kick that you need to jump into action? Check out the complete list below:
