Apple Support App For iOS Released, Lets You Get Experts Help, Schedule Repairs

For those iPhone and iPad owners who doubt Apple don’t have enough first-party apps, they are in for some good news. Officially not announced, but it still appears that the Cupertino-based company is in the process of rolling out a new app called Apple Support that offers universal support for the range of smartphones and tablets belongs to Apple.

This new Support app lets users get the best expert help with devices and software and schedule repairs at the Apple Store. The app by the way also offers a catalog of support articles to help users fix common issues.

In detail, the new app very much appears to be Apple’s way of bringing together a myriad of support pages and documents into one easy-to-use piece of mobile software that will instantly be available on all compatible iPhones and iPads.

Previously, Apple gave us the option to schedule Genius Bar appointments from within the Apple Store app when we actually needed repairs and technical support, but today it has made it official by dropping its emphasis on the Genius Bar, that was recently removed. In addition to providing streams of support info, the new app from Apple Support team also let device owners know exactly which devices are still actively registered against an Apple ID, as well as finding out more information, and accessing things like the AppleCare service:

Need help? Apple Support app is your personalized guide to the best options from Apple. Find answers with articles tailored to your products and questions. Call, chat or email with an expert right away, or schedule a callback when it’s convenient. Get a repair at an Apple Store or a nearby Apple Authorized Service Provider. Apple Support is here to help.

With the roll out of Apple’s new Support app, it’s giving us the ability to schedule in-store appointments again – both at Apple stores and Authorized Service Providers, but there’s no mention of the Genius Bar in the description though. Some of the features integrated into the new Support app will instantly look familiar to anyone who has regularly interacted with Apple’s Apple Store app.

Apple Support app will now allow users to get devices looked at or fixed at an Apple Store or as said at authorized reseller, as per the iTunes metadata. Offers support over the phone, by email, and by live chat. You can also use Support app to schedule a callback at a convenient time, and also browse support pages to fix common problems with macOS, iOS, tvOS, and watchOS.

It’s also extremely easy to navigate around and find content quickly should you need to. Currently, it’s available to download in select countries only, but there’s no reason why Apple won’t make it available to all countries where the company’s retail or support lively present.

It appears the Apple Support app has gone live in the Netherlands right now, but we can expect it to reach in App Store in other countries worldwide very soon. Anyone interested in downloading and using the Apple Support app should keep an eye on their local App Store for when it finally propagates through the servers and goes live in the U.S. and others.
