Apple Watch Series 3 In Final Testing Phase, Here’s What You Need To Know

New rumors have surfaced claiming that Apple Watch Series 3 wearables have entered the “final testing phase” with mass production process set to kick into gear soon. Here are the details you need to know about it.

Not officially, but the reports today comes from Chinese-language Economy Daily News. It offers insight into when we could actually witness the updated smartwatch launch. With that said, Apple Watch Series 3 already in manufacturing process ahead of rumored September launch.

The report, citing unnamed supply-chain sources, said Tiawan-based manufacturer Quanta Computer will begin shipping Apple Watch Series 3 models in the fourth quarter. This claim lining up with the smartwatch’s widely rumored launch date of September.

If the timecales are correct, then such a launch could coincide with the release of 2017’s new iPhone lineup. Although expected to include the iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. Possibly a 4K-capable Apple TV iteration as well.

Apple Watch Series 2 models and slightly upgraded Series 1 models launched last September alongside the iPhone 7/7 Plus. So this suggesting that a release cadence mimicking the iPhone’s would make plenty of sense for Apple’s wearable device.

It’s reasonable to assume that Series 3 models could launch in September as well, alongside three new iPhone models. As the original Apple Watch, now unofficially dubbed Series 0, launched in April 2015.

The rest of the report cites KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who recently shared Apple Watch Series 3 information. Said that, the Apple Watch Series 3 will be available in both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + LTE models in 38mm and 42mm sizes. Also said the cellular-enabled model will have an embedded SIM, but it might support VoIP calling only. And services such as WhatsApp, Skype and even Apple’s own FaceTime would not work without issue.

While the other model with LTE support and capabilities, specifically enables data only. That is something we will have to confirm once the device is announced. Other than that, the Series 3 watch models will be significantly redesigned for the first time. According to John Gruber, the Apple Watch Series 3 could have an all-new form factor.

Few other details are known about the next-gen Apple Watch at this point, but no components have leaked from supply chain yet. Nevertheless, the KGI analyst recently updated his previous report with a prediction that the Series 3 might feature an eSIM. Thus said it is unlikely to get Android support.

Anything can happen in the technology world, Apple Watch Series 3 may support Android smartwatch OS and other things. Stay tuned for more info right here.
