Apple Removes Original iPad mini In Favor Of Upcoming iPad mini 4 or iPad Pro?

You will all know by now that Apple’s iPad mini is no more listed on Apple Online Store, and evidently removed other references of the tablet from its portal. With 7.9-inch screen, the three-year-old iPad mini was announced back in October 2012, but the iPad tablet was since then been succeeded by the iPad mini 2 and mini 3, the latter featuring a Retina display, Touch ID and 64-bit A7 processor. Apart this, a subsquent leak now gives us a hint as to the logic behind its disappearance. Detailed below.

It seems like Apple planning to release a new version of iPad, dubbed iPad mini 4 in this fall alongside the Force Touch equipped iPhone 6s. A set of live images of what so expected is allegedly a bumper case for the forthcoming iPad mini 4, showed up online, coourtesy of @OnLeaks. It’s usual place to have case manufacturers a step ahead of the crow in terms of dimensions an layout of new devices, and it’s of course no different in the instance.

Beyond that there’s nothing revolutionary to speak abut the leaked photos though, after all the measurements of the previous three generations of iPad mini remained similar. Anything that gives credibility to the previous leaks could be the bumper protector case and if its true, then the launch of the iPad mini 4 is no way aproaching, and release date timeframe set for this fall.

Reasons are many, in pulling off the iPad mini from its Online Store, which have already dropped the price of the first-gen A5-based iPad mini to $299 in Oct. 2103 and further discounted the tablet to $249 on 2014 of October, but the device was a hard sell given the iPad mini 2 starts at $299 with newer features and specs. Original iPad mini remains available in the refurbished section of the Apple Online Store for between $209 and $409 depending on the specific model and storage capacity.

Authorized third-party resellers such as Amazon, will retail the original iPad mini, but available in limited quantities, althoug likely only until leftover stock is depleted. Apple on the other hand continous selling the remaining tablet lineup, includes iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 3 and iPad mini 2.

Notably, the Cupertino based company is widely rumored to introduce a larger 12.9-inch “iPad Pro” targeted at professional users later this year.
