Apple Releases iOS 11.2 Beta 2 For iPhone X [Download Now]

Apple has today released to download iOS 11.2 beta 2 IPSW links and OTA update for iPhone X which was launched already.

The release of the new beta of iOS 11.2 for iPhone X devices allows the latest flagship to be updated. This was somewhat unexpected given just beta 1 release of iOS 11.2 a few days ago.

What’s new in the latest iOS 11.2 beta 2 pre-release seed? We admitting the fact that this is likely been initiated to counter the issue. Many developers and testers found themselves in a situation where they couldn’t restore their backup made on iOS 11.2 beta 1 when moving to the final version of iOS 11.1 on their new iPhone X as there was no beta 1 of iOS 11.2 available for the X.

Though, iOS 11.2 beta 2 isn’t available for any other iOS device except for iPhone X, which might change soon.

If that’s the case, then there will generally be another push from a different branch which would also involve public beta testers n the process. But so far, that hasn’t happened for members of Apple Beta Software Program yet.

The iOS 11.2 firmware includes some minor user interface tweaks systemwide, as well as fixes the awkward Calculator bug which showed the wrong answer when certain numbers were added quickly. There’s also some sort of AirPlay 2 support backed in as well, along with usual bug fixes, performance, and battery life improvements.

As for the new iOS 11.2 beta 2, we have not much to speak about as yet expect that it is currently available for iPhone X users only.

In the meantime, if you have a configuration profile of iOS 11.2 beta installed on your iPhone X or iPad Pro, you can head over to Settings > General > Software Update right now to grab the newer iOS 11.2 beta 2 seed as an over-the-air update. Alternatively, if the IPSW file is what you are after, can head over to beta.apple.com to get it directly from there and then using iTunes to restore or update the new firmware.
