Pangu Demoes iOS 8.3 Jailbreak, Release After iOS 8.4 Launch; Report

First time at the Mobile Security Conference (MOSEC) in Shanghai, Pangu team has successfully demoed upcoming jailbreak for iOS 8.3, as confirmed by team member Daniel_K4 on Chinese social networking website Weibo. However, it’s unclear whether Pangu’s iOS 8.3 jailbreak compatible with the new iOS 8.4 final version, and we have to witness that on Monday, June 8, 2015.

While details are scarce at the far moment, it is said to arrive as soon as Apple releases final version of iOS 8.4 to public sometime this month, according to the Japanese iOS jailbreak site Tools4Hack reports.

Apple reportedly planning to release iOS 8.4 as early as tomorrow, right after WWDC keynote but decided against it at the last minute. Release date of iOS 8.4 is now tipped for late June launch (as per 9to5Mac).

It was said that iOS 8.4 arrival expected to see all new Music app which includes revamped streaming service based on current Beats Music, iTunes Radio as well as much needed fox for that notorious bug which crashes Messages app on iOS and Watch OS. Apple has however has been making it difficult to jailbreak iOS devices by patching vulnerabilities with every new iOS update, and expect to make it more strenuous in iOS 9 with the new kernel-level feature called Rootless, which it includes preserve the security of sensitive data on devices, increase the safety of extensions and prevent malware.

No answer as yet in our way on whether or not this Pangu jailbreak demonstrated at MOSEC will be compatible to work with iOS 8.4. Changes of it working on iOS 9 are close to none though because of Apple’s new “rootless” security measure, which indeed make jailbreaking process very hard to achieve.

This isn’t the first iOS 8.4 jailbreak demonstrated. Previously, Stefan Esser, better known as i0n1c has shown it as a proof of concept video. His demo showed iOS 8.4 beta 1 jailbreak on iPhone 6. Jailbreakers should avoid upgrading to iOS 8.4 when it is released later this month.

We will keep informed regarding any update on iOS 8.4 public release as well as the state of Pangu’s iOS 8.3 jailbreak here at our website. Stay tuned.
