BBM For Android Gets Video Chat Support, Coming Soon To iPhone

BBM is an instant messaging service, not just for BlackBerry anymore. BBM for Android now gains beta video chat support in Canada and the United States. The latest update for Android BBM video calling support should already be rolling out in the Google Play Store, bringing with it a much-requested feature: video cahts.

You can download BBM for Android updated messaging service to get full support for video calls, which was been only released for BlackBerry 10 users, and today finally making its way into the two big mobile platforms – a release of BBM for iOS is apparently coming soon.

Video calling for iPhone and iPad users seems to be coming very soon. Please note that BlackBerry initially limiting its BBM Video calling availability, because this is the first time they’re launching it into wild, and the company also want to monitor its performance, gather feedback, and then, iron out any kinds that may arise before they initially roll it out officially.

Currently, the BBM Video calling for Android users are limited in the US and Canada. Users of BBM for Android need to update the latest version to try out. You will not need a sign-in or an approval to use BBM video calling. How it works? When you tap the icon to initiate, a call with one of your BBM contacts on Android device, will ask you whether want to make a voice or try out video call with the beta feature. Any one in your contact list are eligible to participate.

Interested ones holding Android phone can test video calling inside BBM (even cross-platform), but only in North America. All the kinks works in a simple manner, choose, and connected periodically. For this to work the contact you want to video call with also has to have the latest version of BBM installed on their handsets. Should running Android 4.4 or higher, and will be offered to those using a device running iOS 8 or higher in the next few weeks.
