Microsoft’s Skype for Insiders has become Skype Preview with several popular messaging apps gaining video call capability, the Redmond-based software maker has been pushing some much needed improvements to its Skype app. Beta version of Skype Preview for Android has been made available, also hits iOS App Store to download and install it. Free messaging, voice and video calls with anyone for free of cost, Skype Preview for both the platforms brings with it new features to test out before anyone else. For those interested, Skype Preview for Android is now live on Google Play to download. For iPhone users, Skype Preview for iOS in limited capacity through Apple’s TestFlight. Which means, those Skype users on iOS can apply to become a Skype Insider for iOS and will get an email invitation to grab the preview app.

The all-new in-call reactions allow users to add live reactions, live text and real-time photos to video calls. The integrated camera lets Skype users quickly swipe and launch the camera. Skype Preview will also let users add emoticons, stickers and annotations on top of photos. There’s still a new messaging reactions inclusion allowing users respond to any message from contacts with multiple reactions. The Skype Preview also brings Find panel to the table of beta build that allows users find and share links, news, sports result, restaurants, the weather, videos and much more without leaving the app.

Skype fairly mentions that the new features are being tested through the new Skype Preview app for Android and iOS. As Microsoft had confirmed that Skype will be getting talking bots in 2017. Skype calling API will be made available to its partners, meaning that consumers will get more ways to interact with services on Skype. “We want you to see these innovations first before we introduce them to the rest of Skype. We also have new enhancements and features already in the pipeline,” wrote Skype team in an announcement blog post.

  • Find panel: easily find and share links, news, sports results, restaurants, the weather, videos and more without leaving the app. No more switching back and forth between apps; we’re making it easy to bring the content you care about to the conversations that matter.

You can download Skype Preview for Android from Google Play. For Skype Preview on iOS is as said will be available to limited capacity via Apple’s TestFlight.
