TaiG 2.0 jailbreak for iOS 8.1.3, iOS 8.3 and iOS 8.2 download links has been released for compatible iPhones, iPads and iPod touch devices. Tool is currently available for Windows users, with a Mac release to follow soon.
You can now be able to download TaiG 2.0 iOS 8.3, 8.2 and iOS 8.1.3 jailbreak compatible for iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, 5s, 5c, 5, 4s, iPads and iPod touch. Jailbreak exploits used in previous versions of Pangu, TaiG and PP jailbreak tools for iOS devices were patched by Apple with the release of iOS 8.1.3 in January this year.
Later with iOS 8.2, Apple patched even more explots that were needed to make Pangu8, TaiG and PP jailbreaks do their trick. In March this year, TaiG team hosted Mobile Security Summit in Beijing where they provided the following update on jailbreaking process.
After the release of first beta of iOS 8.4 in mid-April, i0n1c simply came up with a video showing his jailbreak for iOS 8.4 in action on an iPhone 6. It was in April when Apple released iOS 8.3, patching yet another exploit of TaiG.
In May, it was reported that Apple is working on a new security system called ‘Rootless’ which will make jailbreaking very difficult to access on iOS 9. Another Chinese team Pango successfully demoed iOS 8.3 jailbreak at MOSEC, were reportedly planning to release as soon as Apple rolled out iOS 8.4 to public.
Right after Apple released iOS 9 beta 1 and iOS 8.4 beta 4. TaiG mainatined that they were indeed concentrating on an iOS 9 jailbreak and had no plans for iOS 8.3 or iOS 8.4 jailbreak. Soon after iOS 9 beta 1 released, Chinese jailbreak team ‘Keen’ with the help of Pangu were said to be working on a jailbreak for iOS 9. TaiG only planning on releasing iOS 9 jailbreak later this fall.
On June 23, out of no where, TaiG surprised everyone by releasing version 2.0 for jailbreaking all devices on iOS 8.3, iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.1.3.
TaiG 2.0 supports following iOS devices:
iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPad Air 2, iPad Air 1, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 1 and iPod touch 5.
Now that TaiG jailbreak team has finally released an updated version of its jailbreak tool to support iOS 8.1.3 all the way up to the current version of iOS 8.3 firmware. Thus the tool is currently available for Windows users only, and will be available to those running OS X later on. Since its an early release, as TaiG team says on its website, users should expect to run into a few road bumps.
Cydia Substrate is currently not compatible with iOS 8.2 and 8.3 so it’s requested to users that they do not yet install anything off Cydia whose sole requirement is Cydia Substrate in order to function. The creator of Cydia, currently working to update Cydia Substrate to ensure compatibility for those wanting a jailbreak and install tweaks for the latest mobile ipsw.
