In the version 2.2.1 TaiG iOS 8.4 jailbreak update we were able to fix the setreuid patch directly from Cydia and TaiG has just pushed out another update to both their iOS 8.4 jailbreak tool and untether package available on Cydia.
Up to 2.3.0, this update brings the recently released Cydia 1.1.19 bundled as part of initial jailbreak, as well as completely removes setreuid patch which is no longer need now after Cydia’s 1.1.19 ability to always run as “mobile” instead of “root”. This means that jailbreak tweaks and themes can modify Cydia, just the way they can modify iOS and other apps.
Here’s the official changelog:
Integrates Cydia 1.1.19, which is perfectly compatible of iOS 8.3-8.4; removes setreuid patch.
From here onwards, you can use TaiG 2.3.0 if you’re going to jailbreak iOS 8.4 on a non-jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod touch devices. Those who already jailbroken using either v2.2.0 or v2.2.1 don’t need to jailbreak again as the update is available on Cydia for upgrading exiting jailbroken devices on 8.4 to version 2.3.0.
Although the update for existing jailbroken devices is available on Cydia’s default Telesphoreo repository, and don’t need to add any other repos or sources. Simply launch Cydia and let it lead everything. Once done, serach for TaiG 8.1.3-8.x Untether and update to the latest 2.3 version, as shown in the screenshot below. Simple!
If looking for jailbreaking their devices for the first time can download TaiG 2.3.0 TaiGJBreak_EN_2300.zip for Windows from here, and then can follow our step-by-step guide on how to jailbreak iOS 8.4 on PC. For Mac user, by suing virtual machine, which we won’t have to show up.
