Are you looking for an easy method to send places from Google maps on the desktop to your trusty iOS device, then here’s a good news and that too from the Mountain View giant updated the Maps softawre for iPhone to evidently send resturants and other sports you search for on the desktop to your mobile device for directions while in route. Google’s mapping service for iOS has received a new update and found some interesting additions that brough with it into the iPhone, iPad.
The Google Maps version 4.7.0 is now available to download. Available on the iTunes App Store. Change log however notes some incrimental upgrades, as follows:
- Send places you search for on Google Maps desktop to your mobile device (Notifications must be enabled)
- Add/edit business hours for places
- View your reviews and photos from “Your places” profile
- Bug fixes

Highlight of the show is should be the ability to send locations from a browser to your iPhone. For Android, such features was added recently and currently usable on your iOS devices.
Once enabled, you can no doubt instantly send locations from desktop computer to your iOS device as long as they’re signed into the same account by clicking on the “Send to Devices” button on the desktop version after searching for a location.
First of all, you will need to enable it on your iOS device, here’s how to do so:
- Open up Google Maps on iOS and make sure you’re logged into your Google account
- Tap the Settings menu and open up Settings
- Tap Notifications
- Make sure the “Sent from desktop maps” option is enabled and notifications are enabled for Google Maps
You should see the “Send to Device” option in Google Maps on your desktop. If not, try logging out and logging back in again. Now, search for any location on the Google Maps website on your computer and make it happening.
