Days of jailbreaking are gone now when a tool or utility would be released and you could almost trust that developers would be on the go offering compatibility with their tweaks and extensions.
Modern jailbreaking is about hurdles and are struggling, which is why yet another continuously updated sheet has appeared that gives an insight into tweaks which offer compatibility with the latest release of Electra jailbreak.
For those unknown about what’s going on in the jailbreak scene, Electra is the latest “jailbreak toolkit” arrived, offering liberation for 64-bit devices running iOS 11 through to iOS 11.1.2 thanks to the inclusion of the Ian Beer’s async_wake exploit. This isn’t a perfect jailbreak solution though, as it does offer a functional version of Cydia but it does liberate the device and allow device owners to go further of adding tweaks and new installations manually. But, the question is which packages work and which don’t?
And yes, it’s actually deeper than that. Compatible iPhone and iPad owners not only want to know which tweaks work and which don’t, and they also want to know the extent of those packages are broken. As an example, will an installed tweak just allow itself to be invoked and not execute its functionality? Otherwise, could that package cause the device to go into a boot loop or cause a serious damage from which there’s no real return without a full restore of the underlying firmware? These are most important questions.
In order, here’s a continuously updated spreadsheet which has been created titled “Electra Tweak Compatibility List“. As the name suggests, the sheet allows community members to report tweaks that they have tried and tested which can then be uploaded to the Sheep by the admin for wider visibility. The spreadsheet had almost 140 tweaks and extensions included in which all show as “Stable/Works“, “Doesn’t Work“, or “Issues“. There’s still an accompanying note on some of the packages which give information such as a requirement that the device must be jailbroken with a specific beta version of Electra in order to guarantee compatibility.
If your device is jailbroken with Electra, or are thinking about going through the process now that a number of betas have been released and it may be more stable, then check out the list of compatible tweaks below.
