ASUS ZenFone 5 Series Launch Expected At MWC 2018 On February 27

Regarding the fact today we admit that ASUS reportedly planning to announce ZenFone 5 series at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, starting on February 27. It has been rumored in the past that the Taiwan-based ASUS manufacturer may introduce its next line of ZenFone series in the Q1 2018.

And today we have an official announcement date for ASUS ZenFone 5. The company scheduled an event on February 27, 2018.

Alongside HMD Global, Samsung, Sony, and Xiaomi, ASUS is all set to arrive at MWC 2018 event in Spain. The official invitation from ASUS hints the launch of the ZenFone 5 series by featuring #BACKTO5 hashtag. It also reveals a “We Love Photo” tag that was originally used at the time of launching the ZenFone 4 family last year and sports Qualcomm Snapdragon branding.

The new phones are arriving just five months after ZenFone 4 versions. Six devices were announced back in August last year, followed by some more in September. Rumors also suggest that we might see at least three new devices this year – including ZenFone 5, ZenFone 5 Lite, and ZenFone 5 Max with a massive battery. According to the poster, phones should arrive with Snapdragon chipsets.

Recently, a suspicious ASUS smartphone with model number ASUS_X00QD received a certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance. The handset runs Android Oreo and comes with a dual-band 802.11ac WiFi support, as per the certification. It also appears to come with features, such as Wi-Fi Direct and Miracast support.

The ZenFone 5 Lite also recently been certified in Russia, the model is expected to feature a 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and Snapdragon chip.

The keynote by Asus will take place at 7:30 pm CET on February 27 (12 am IST, February 28). It will include CEO Jerry Chen, GM of Mobile Business Division Bryan Chang and Marcel Campos, Global Marketing Head of System Business Group and will be live-streamed on the company’s official site.
