LeEco Officially Teases Its Very Own Autonomous Electric Car Vs. Tesla Model 3 [Watch Out]

The China-based smartphone manufacturer LeEco (formally known LeTV) has today at an event in its home country have announced a trio of new smartphone range, which includes Le 2, the Le 2 Pro and the Le Max 2 with the “world’s first type-c digital smart earpiece to follow CDLA standard”, which takes on the 3.5mm audio jack. The company didn’t stopped their after introducing the flagship smartphone, but really wants the planet to know it isn’t just about TVs and smartphones. After the announcement of its investment in Faraday Future and Aston Martin earlier this year, today, I mean at the event LeEco took the stage to uncover its very first electric vehicle that actually moves. Teased its very own autonomous electric car on stage and driven out of a container from one end of the satge.

Named it LeSEE, an electric vehicle was later, CEO Jia Yueting did a live demo of its self-driving and self-parking capability using voice commands via a mobile app, albeit moving towrads in low speed due to the limited space, as you can witness it in this video below after the break with popcorn hands-on.

Unfortunately, there’s no mention about its specs and the English subtitles suggest that this is more than a concept car at the moment, but nevertheless, it does appear to be a solid competitor amongst this relay. As an investor of China’s car-hailing app Yidao Yongche, LeEco envisions its future LeSEE cars to form a fleet of autonomous taxis, with their front lights indicating their avaiability using various colors.

In the official video presented by LeEco, the LeSEE electric car has conventional front doors and a rear suicide doors, and somehow, the back seats can apparently adapt to the shape of the passenger’s bodies — yep! Smells like concept car. You won’t either find touchscreens behind the front seats which can obviously take advantage of LeEco’s rich video entertainment, though.

However, Jia added that bthe elecric car will also do face recognition and self-learning, but we’ll have to wait unti the future demo on those go live significantly. Currently on it, there’s no more info to share then, but will keep you all posted if any updates surface.

The first LeSEE electric car will make its proper debut at the Beijing Auto Show on April 24th. Stay tuned to us on the date to register yourself to grab more information regarding LeEco’s new invitation.
