BlackBerry Messenger ‘BBM’ Now Gets Android Lollipop And iOS 8 Support

BlackBerry has rolled out an update for its BBM Messenger app for Android and iOS, adding support for new versions and improving existing features.

Now BBM supports for Android 5.0 Lollipop handsets and if you’re on the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, you can finally use BlackBerry Messenger. With version 2.6, BBM brings Group Stickers for all platforms and increases timed messages timer to last up to 60 seconds.


Landscape mode support also allotted, and the BBM on BlackBerry 10 gets option to share multiple pictures and attachments at the same time.


The “Snapchat effect” continues to have an impact on all types of messaging apps, including what many consider the original mobile messaging service, BBM.

New BBM Android app update brings:

  • Support for Android 5.0 Lollipop
  • Send stickers in group chats!
  • See when a contact has received and viewed your sent pictures.
  • Timed pictures and messages can now be viewed multiple times until the timer expires
  • Added a new 60 second timer option
  • Landscape mode
  • Add a photo or attachment from your SD card

Talking about the new devices, BBM for IOS now supports the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and also the 5.5″ iPhone 6 Plus.
