Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Release Date Announced

After several rumors and lots of predictions, Activision today confirmed that we can expect a brand new Call of Duty series later this year.

As expected, the next CoD is coming later this year, which is Activision’s latest entry in the military shooter series. Following on from last year’s Call of Duty: WWII, this year’s incarnation will see a return to the Black Ops world, with CoD: Black Ops 4 being the rather unimaginative title.

Inexplicably styled Black Ops IIII in the logo, the game has been given might be slightly confusing, however, because while Activision is using the number 4 in its text. The logo instead opts to go the Roman Numerical route of IIII. It’s the first entry in the Black Ops subseries since 2015, and it continues to follow last year’s CoD: WWII. As with all previous Black Ops games, the new title will be developed by longtime Call of Duty studio Treyarch.

Announced that, gamers can expect the global launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on October 12th, with a “Community Reveal Event” taking place on May 17th.

That’s all we know right now. Activision says the new title “represents a game-changing experience,” but it isn’t providing anything in the way of details just yet. Instead, gives the revealing day more during a live-streamed May 17th event, but until then it’s all very much secret. Beyond that there is a real dearth of information.

Rumors of a new Call of Duty game series have been swirling for several weeks, following a report from Eurogamer in February and after NBA star James Harden was spotted wearing a hat with a logo that suggested a new Black Ops title was in the works, the things only intensified over the last few days, thanks to a baseball cap.

Black Ops 4 will be launching on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC when it debuts in October. While all of the attention will undoubtedly be on the new COD addition it’s worth noting that another new game was announced alongside. It’s the second reveal of a blockbuster game today, following Ubisoft’s surprise announcement of The Division 2 earlier.
