Paytm has introduced a much-needed security feature with its latest iOS app update. The updated Paytm iOS app bumps to version 5.8.3, bringing with it fingerprint/Touch ID authentication support for payments.
You can now download the latest version 5.8.3 of Paytm for iOS. The digital payments app has added security levels by enabling Touch ID authentication, which was actually required, geven the increase in use of mobile wallets, and the threat it posed due to the lack of any authentic during money transfers.
Version 5.8.3 of Paytm for iOS now gets support for Touch ID in the application, also brings some “important bug fixes. Once downloaded and updated the app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, Paytm will take you through steps to setup Touch ID/Biometric authentication. Users can skip this feature, though, if they really want. They can even set it up later via Profile > Security and Settings.
First and foremost, it has to be noted down that this is an opt-in security feature that Paytm for iOS app brought with it. You will be asked to authenticate your fingerprint only when you tap on Pay or Passbook tabs.
Paytm offers coupons, recharge, promo codes and even bill payments. On iOS devices, now it has been updated to v5.8.3, Paytm beefs up additional security layer protection to your Paytm Wallet even if you lose or misplace your phone.
Following this simple how to guide, you don’t need to authenticate your fingerprint every time you open the app. Paytm will only ask you for that authentication when you tap on the Pay or Passbook button. Once you did so, you are free to make payments through any pf the available modes.
