Reliance Communications has launched a cheaper plan worth Rs. 149 per month that offers unlimited voice calls to mobile networks across India, including STD calls. In a bid to compete with Jio, RCom’s “149 Unlimited” plan also allows customers surf the web as well with no hidden charges associated with the new plan. In addition to unlimited voice calling, customers also get 300MB data with the new plan which Reliance Communications offering now. It is available for all mobile phones across all 2GB, 3G and 4G technology platforms.
Unlike Reliance Jio plans, this new plan from RCom does not require a 4G LTE with Voice-over-LTE capable smartphone, rather works on any mobile phone. With this move, the company is expected hundreds of millions of older 2G handset owners in the country will avail the newly launched plan that help them migration of these customers to its own network, along with 300 MB of mobile data usage.
Although Reliance Jio is currently offering all its services for free of cost, the regular monthly telecom plans for the company will start from Rs. 149 as well. The base plan by Reliance Jio will also offer unlimited voice-calling and data plan. What’s unknown is that both the companies have spectrum trading and sharing agreement by ease.
With the iteration of the new telecom plan ‘149 Unlimited’ by the company seems to be targeting those mobile users who don’t own a 4G-capable smartphone, which clearly mentioned in its release that there’re no hidden charges or any additional conditions that are associated with its new plan.
