Reliance has already running its own free-of-charge program with its 4G LTE data for 3 months in India, and now gearing up to launch its own budget feature phone with 4G VoLTE capabilities as well. As per the latest report, Reliance will launch two new 4G feature phones comes at a more affordable pricing early next year. Could only cost you Rs 1000 / 15,000 that too capable to support 4G Voice-over-LTE unlimited voice and video calling.
Reliance 4G LTE feature phones will work like smartphones and doesn’t come with touchscreen. Reportedly, the phones will run on Android mobile operating system and comes with a keypad and a front-facing, rear cameras. Additionally, they contain Jio apps such as “Jio Chat”, Live TV and video on demand. By the way these Feature phones from Reliance will also sport digital wallet service, Jio Money Wallet.
Reliance is also said to be working with domestic handset makers like Lava International and Chinese original equipment manufacturers to produce these feature phones. First batch of such could have branding from both Jio and Lava and to be sold through their respective retail channels. To make VoLTE calls active, the company will enable it by chipsets, which Jio plans to source from Chinese company Spreadtrum, while agreement on its way with Qualcomm and MediaTek.

As India sits on the second position of the largest smartphone market in the world, so a large number of tier II and tier III population still relies on the feature phones, registered 39.9 million units in CY Q3 2016 with a healthy 18.6% quarter-over-quarter growth.
