Samsung has slashed the prices for its both the flagship smartphones Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge in India. The smartphones have received price cuts of almost Rs. 5000 each from their launch price in Inda.
The news surfaced and was first tipped by an established Mumbai-based retailer, Mahesh Telecom, but later we have got the official confirmation as well.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 smart phone was launched at a price of Rs. 48,900, is now available at Rs. 43,400 after the price drop. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is now available for Rs. 50,900, as it was at Rs. 56,900 in the past.
Well! Both the prices are referring to the 32GB Galaxy S7 and S7 Efge variants in the country. The two new Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge shares similar hardware specifications, expect the S7 offers a 5.1-inch display, weighs 152 grams and is powered by a 3000mAh battery. While the Galaxy S7 Edge sports a 5.5-inch display, 3,600mAh battery and weighs 157 grams. The two high-end and popular smartphones have a Quad HD Super AMOLED screens with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels.
The major difference between the S7 and S7 Edge in terms of softawre would be the new improved App Edge display on the right side of the latter. Both devices Google’s mobile operating system, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and supports 200GB microSD cards.
Other specs includes Exynos 8890 64-bit octa-core processor with 4GB RAM, 12MP duapixel f/1.7 rear camera module with smart OIS technology. On its front, you will find a 5MP selfie camera, has 4G LTE connectivity and fast charging.
Reason behind the price drops would that because of smartphones to boost their demand ahead of the newly launched Galaxy Note 7 availability in India. Set to go live on sale from September 2. Pre-orders for the smartphone already began on Monday, 22nd August and ends August 30.
