Doogee V Has A Notch On Top Like iPhone X, Galaxy S9 Clone With In-Display Fingerprint Reader

The Doogee V is something of an upcoming Android smartphone for the Chinese market appeared online that has not released as yet. But you will probably hear the name from today as the Spain-based company officially announced an Android-powered device with Apple iPhone X-like makeover.

The smartphone world is one in which there are very few original ideas, and leftovers to be expected from a lot of manufacturers who borrow from one another from time to time. Admittedly, that’s happening now, a little known Chinese smartphone makers are among the worst for simply taking existing flagship phones and aping them. These even didn’t miss the un-announced phone specs and design. The latest to follow that line of design thinking is the Doogee V, and it looks familiar for all kinds of reasons.

It’s Doogee V, but we don’t know whether the thing will finally see the end of the road and comes to our site for review. The Chinese OEM’s latest flagship model that is scheduled to be unveiled sometime by late April or early May.

Meet Doogee V, which is the first phone to give us an early look at the design that combines features which they are few original ideas. However, the major trend for 2018 will be under-display fingerprint scanners. There are some that borrow more heavily than others. The Doogee V an Android smartphone for the Chinese market. The display cues are 6.2-inch 18:9 AMOLED panel with minimal bezels all the way around.

The Doogee V has a pretty standard fare of Android phones these days, but while the rounded corners look suspiciously like they do on an iPhone X, that camera notch at the top of the display is ripped straight out of Apple’s playbook. You will not find an array of sensors up there like you would find on an iPhone, but nevertheless, that’s where the front-facing camera, speaker, and ambient light sensor reside on the Doogee V.

Around the back, there’s a vertical camera arrangement, which looks very familiar like the one you would find on a Samsung Galaxy S9, assuming the leaks are to be accurate. So it is not just Apple that has had its design chips repurposed here. The bottom bezel (chin) at the front is pretty similar to the Galaxy S8/S9 as well.

The newcomer, Doogee V pulls inspiration from one other notable device – the unannounced Galaxy S9, iPhone X similarities out of the way. Where the things do differ from the norm is a fingerprint sensor, embedded beneath the display. With Samsung also thought to be going the same direction for some time. Now that a phone with the technology appears to be close to market, we can only hope other manufacturers follow suit in 2018. The sooner we get away from them being on the back of the phone, the better!

For Doogee V pricing and specifications sheet, we have to wait for some more time to put that into the comparison chart. Stay tuned for more!
