Kodi 17 Krypton Final Version For iOS, Android, Windows And More Released [Download Now]

You can now download Kodi 17 Krypton Final version on iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Apple TV and more compatible devices. Here are the details.

The absolute version of Kodi 17 Krypton is a feature-packed release with many changes, and lots of bugs users had complained about have followed a lengthy beta and release candidate program. Kodi 17 is now ready for prime time, with the software now available for download. As you might expect from a Kodi release, users can grab Kodi 17 up in a variety of flavors with every major operating system platform covered across both desktop and mobile devices.

With the release of this update, however, Kodi is dropping support for Android 4.4 and earlier, which is aimed for those using older Android devices. The big new update, which was codenamed Krypton all-over its freshy concluded testing period, brings with it plethora of new features and enhancements.

What’s most obvious of those is the newly-redesigned interface. Suggesting to be easier to navigate and claiming altogether more fresh, the Estuary (for big screen devices) and Estouchy (for touch-screen devices) interface may take a little getting used to for seasoned Kodi users but the effort will be worth it enentually. Anyone really don’t want to try out its new hotness though, the old look is still there thanks to the existence of the Confluence skin.

The full changelog can be found over at kodi.wiki, but highlights include:

  • A new web-based interface named Chorus2.
  • A series of revamped settings menus for easier navigation.
  • Improved setup processes for PVR add-ons.
  • Better tag, album, and art information handling in the music library.
  • Improved audio on Android devices – although support for Android 4.4 and earlier is no longer included in this update.

Of course, Kodi continues to be free, and the ever-popular media center software jsut keeps on getting better and better. Those existing users, the update you received is no-brainer, and if you’re new to the app, then Kodi 17 is a great place to jump in and try things out. Should be simply never been a better time to try Kodi. Now, it’s on to the next step in the evolution of the media center, Kodi 18, what has been codenamed “Leia” to honor the iconic role played by the previous Carrie Fisher.
