WhatsApp For Android Update Brings Best ‘Starred’ Features To Find Messages Easier

Here’s a good news for WhatsApp on iPhone or Android users, which is now rolling out an updated feature called Starred messages. For iOS, WhatsApp users has recently received the new feature that allowed users to quickly access bookmarked messages including images, videos, or other content easily. For Android, WhatSapp released the similar Starred Messages inclusion and available for download.

Version 2.12.339 of WhatsApp can be downloaded for Android phones and tablets via the company’s official website, adds the feature to it. Starred Messages on Android can be used by tapping and holding a SMS message, apart from media content, which would also be saved in a separate new Starred Message tab. Once it is starred, the star icon appears next to the message.

The so-called Starred messages will now let you star a message for reference later on, similar to bookmarks in emails, and the popular messaging app, WhatsApp’s new feature will be extremely useful for those finding a particular message. How? Tap that and a small star appears at the bottom of the message, next to the timestamp. To remove it, tap and hold again and you’ll get a crossed star icon that takes care of it.

Starred messages are accessible from the WhatsApp’s overflow menu. Shows up in a scrollable timeline with the sender’s name, date, and the full content. It also applies to media files of all kind. You can even unstarr messages from this view.

Unfortunately, the latest WhatsApp’s Starred messages feature hasn’t made its way into the Google Play, but available as APK. For iPhone users the ‘Starred messages’ folder appears in the contacts section, while for Android users it’s in the ‘Options’ dropdown from the Main Menu.
