Apple is holding its next big event on September 7th, where it’s expected to unveil new iPhones, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. What’s not confirmed is there will be any introduction of the Apple’s second-generation smartwatch, the Apple Watch 2. iPhone 7 is said to be coming with a familiar design, as per the early reports, but the newly leaked specifications although disappointing in some major areas. Here are the details to check.
Two different reports surfaced on the same time on Monday claiming to offer new details on a number of key iPhone 7/7 Plus specs. Said to feature a new 16nm Apple’s A10 processor, merged with M10 co-processing unit, the 4.7-inch device to pair a 2GB RAM and the 5.5-inch Plus to have 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM, featuring an upgraded camera sensors, including a new dual-lens system on the iPhone 7 Plus, and the bigger batteries.
The bad and disappointing news to be found in yesterday’s leak was actually this. None of those new iPhones sporting a “Retina Display”. Previous CEO Steve Jobs has made a bold claim about the phone’s new high-resolution display back in 2010 when the company first introduced the iPhone 4. For about five years, iPhone displays were easily among the best in the market. Apple didn’t anticipate is what, was how fast rival smartphone makers would match and surpass Apple’s screen technology.
Back in 2015, Apple finally made a significant refresh to its phone’s display with the launch of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. But with a 5.5-inch phone had 1080p resolution and a 4.7-inch satisfied with 720 D resolution, where their competitors selling 2k QHD smartphones.
Display, when we talk about the screen resolutions and its quality, Apple has definitely fallen behind. In particular, Samsung’s Super AMOLED screens had improved a lot in this point of view, were been dramatically better than Apple’s LCD panels, from pixel density and color reproduction to contrast and black levels.
Apple is said to be working on bringing curved OLED screens to its 2017 iPhone, dubbed iPhone 8. Until next year Apple will stick with the damn LCD screens. Previously, rumors also suggested that the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models would get the high-resolution screens treatment. According to multiple reports, the iPhone 7 to get fullHD 1080p screen, while the iPhone 7 Plus to get an upgrade to QHD.
Expected, but not confirmed officially by Apple. The new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be more powerful than earlier, which could use twice as much storage capacity at each tier, starting with 32GB, jumping to 128GB and 256GB respectively.
