And today, Sony has announced a brand new DSLR camera in India called the A68. A-mount camera comes with 4D focus that ensures fast and accurate tracking autofocus with 79 AF points. The Japanese electronics will be selling Sony A68 in two kits. One that comes with a 18-55mm lens and the second one with a 18-135mm lens. With APS-C sensor, the A68 camera would be the world’s first featuring 4D focus for amarteur photographers to shoot pictures more creatively. It has 24MP Exmor CMOS sensor that comes directly from the A77. It delivers extraordinary auto-focus (AF) performance under any shooting conditions ranging from lighting as low as exposure value (EV) 2. The highlight of the Sony’s new camera range is the 4D autoficus technology, that ensures fast, accurate tracking with 79 AF points, with Sony’s Translucent Mirror technology to deliver constant AF tracking at up to 8fps (frames per second) continuous shooting.
The camera also features an ISO range of 100-25,600 thanks to the Bionz X ISP. Also supported is Full HD video recording at 1080p with bitrates going up to 50Mbps. With Translucent Mirror Technology, the Sony’s A68 users can experience non-stop autofocus that effortlessly tracks moving subjects for crisp, professional looking footage. The Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) system uses no less than 79 af detection points including 15 cross points, plus a dedicated F/2.8 AF sensor point for dimly-lit scenes.
While the FHD movies feature use the efficient “XAVCSv” format for high-bit rate recording at up to 50 magabits per second with final detail and low noise. On the back we get a 2.7-inch TFT LCD display sporting a resolution of 460k dots that can also be tilted. Tilt upto 135-degrees upwards or 55 degrees downwards for comfortable composition from a wide variety of shooting angles.
Sony has also crammed in an electronic viewfinder with an OLED panel sporting a resolution of 1.4 million dots with 100% frame coverage. The A68 DSLR includes rear and front wheels for adjustments and 11 customizable buttons to activate any of 49 functions for faster, more aggressive operations.
“Serious photo lovers will value the backlit top display that allows quick confirmation of camera settings, whether you’re shooting handheld or on a tripod,” the company said in a statement.

The model ILCA-68/BQ IN5 (Body only) is available at Rs 55,990. The ILCA-68K/BQ IN5 (with SAL1855) model can be bought at Rs 59,990. The high-end ILCA-68M/BQ IN5 (SAL18135) model is available for Rs 85,990.
