Microsoft Band 2 Is Now Official With Curved Display, Available For $249.99 Starting Oct. 30

Microsoft at today’s Windows 10 devices event has announced its next-gen smartband, and it’s called Microsoft Band 2. Details some upgraded features, is a little sleeker and smarter too.

For all its promise and potential, the original Microsoft Band wasn’t a big hit, even though took the stage to introduce its new Microsof Band 2. In this crazy world of Microsoft – where Surfaces are now fully-fledged laptops and Lumias turn into Windows 10 PCs and Band 2 was met with little fanfare.


It was immediately noticeable that a lot of work has been done aesthetically on the wrist wear that can also double up as a fashion accessory for a lot of people. Where the Microsoft Band 2 itself is acceptablely sleeker than last year’s offering, and unlike it this time, Microsoft’s second attempt at the product comes with voice-activated Cortana integration that allows users to provide audible commands directly to the device.

Furthermore, the new Microsoft Band 2 design is slightly different and with it, now has Cortana integration which was a given considering how deeply integrated Microsoft’s digital assistant is within Windows 10. There’s certain element of “if it isn’t broke, then don’t try and fix it” that comes attached to it, but there are also consitences with last year’s Band product, where the software maker has also thrown in a UV meter, as well as a Barometer.


The Microsoft Band 2 comes with the same GPS tracking functionality, which would be the same calorie tracking ability, and still includes guided workouts and the ability to tailor smart notifications to the user’s requirements. It provides the ability to dump all of the tracked data that it stores about a user’s workouts and vitals directly to Microsoft’s Health platform.

Microsoft has been providing licenses to third-party hardware makers in order to allow their accessories to dump data to the Health app. With all the inclusions can boast together, the Microsoft BAND 2 Becomes a very attractive purchase option at $249 only.
