Currently, we are experiencing the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, released last year in October and for this year, there’s another version due for a refresh. Microsoft hasn’t officially confirmed when the successor will be iterated, but a new report claims to leak Microsoft’s Surface Pro 5 specifications. Here are that details regarding to what we are taking an edge for.
We can expect Microsoft Surface Pro 5 to come with improved internals and of course, with some minor changes to the design as well. According to the report that surfaced online, Microsoft Surface Pro 5 key features to include Intel Kaby Lake processors, the ability to select up to 512GB of SSD storage, USB Type-C and Thunderbolt ports too alongside a Surface Pen that’s utterly capable of wireless charging through a magnetic charging dock bundled with the alleged Surface Pro 5.
Rumors also suggests that the next-generation Surface Pro 5 display resolution to be bumped up to 4K considering the fact that Intel’s Kaby Lake architecture does have support for 4K screen-res, but that doesn’t actually mean Microsoft will do this. Take this inevitable does of leaked information with a pinch of salt.
Additionally, Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is also said to include a fingerprint scanner built into the display itself. Obviously, the purported Surface Pro 5 specs also suggests it with the latest Windows 10 update when it’s released.
For now, Microsoft has not confirmed anything about the Surface Pro 5 release date but rumor has it that the device will be out at some point in the first quarter of 2017. Stay tuned!
