Samsung has announced its first Soundbar which is capable of supporting Dolby Atmos. For true surround sound, the Samsung’s new HW-k950 Soundbar with Dobly Atmos uses two rear speakers, actually needs lots of speakers. But the technology used to introduce it, which is not vaiable for everyone.
Dolby Atmos is the latest audio system that moves away from traditional channel based production and playback, which also incorporates ceiling mounted speakers for additional immersion.
At CES 2016, Samsung took the stage to introduce its foremost Soundbar equipped with Dolby Atmos. You can get vertical sound without purchasing an extra gear or chewing up all the free space in your living room. The HW-K950 Soundbar include a pair of Atmos-capable wireless speakers in the box. With 5.1.4 channel combo should give you immersive audio without either s=consuming precious home theater real estate or making add some add-on packs. It has forward facing drivers and two upward facing drivers that bounce the sound off the ceiling.
It is just 2.1” high, and has a slim and sleek design. Comes with Dobly Atmos-enabled wireless rear speakers, promises a rich and detailed sound effects. It connects to the subwoofer wirelessly and the rear mounted speakers as well and it doesn’t require ceiling-fitted speakers for a 3D audio experience.
In addition, there’s two wireless surround speakers that project audio from behind you and also bounce two additional channels of sound from the top. Samsung is ready to showcase this Sounbar and new color variants of already released R1, R3 and R5 Wireless Audio 360 speakers and Smart Fridge with touchscreen products at CES in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9, 2016.
