Samsung has decided and revealed that it will not going to sell its consumer cameras in the United Kingdom, the move that the South Korean electronics made will affect both of its digital camera line up and camcoders too.
Decision behind Samsung not selling its cameras in the UK is decribed here. Reportedly, the company has recently confirmed that it will stop selling their camera hardware in the UK, although there was no exact date givenon from when its going to happen.
The statement by Samsung, explaining:
“We quickly adapt to market needs and demands. In the UK, we have seen a gradual and sustained decline in demand for standalone digital cameras and camcorders and related accessories. For this reason, we have taken the decision to phase out the sales and marketing of these products. This is a local decision, based on local market conditions.”
It seems like Samsung is probably looking to reduce their budget on devices which are less profitable for them in certain regions like the markets in the UK, for example. So, no more Samsung cameras will be sold out in the United Kingdom and from when is unknown. Hopefully, for NX camera users, they will still be able to purchase new lenses on import.
