Earlier it was told that the latest update to the popular battle royale shooter Fortnite, with version 4.2 arriving for those who want to get their game on. With today’s update, Epic has released the 4.2 content update for all PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile platform. Usually brought with it the array of changes to the way the game plays and now available as another update.
Although this new one coming to Fortnite is a content update to the existing v4.2 release. Despite the extended gestation period, the compatible devices won’t be around for very long.
Unlike most other items that Epic has recently added to Fortnite, jetpacks will only be introduced in the game for a limited time. The developer behind it hasn’t specified how long they’ll appear, but you’ll need to be pretty lucky to get your hands on one, as they’re a Legendary item that can only be found in treasure chests.
This release does not either come with a new version number, there’s still plenty to get the teeth into. Cheif among the new additions is the arrival of jetpacks, part of another new addition that brings backpacks to the game.
Jetpacks are the first in a new line of items that Epic made available in the game: backpacks. Unlike the Back Bling cosmetics that were added earlier this year, backpacks take up an inventory slot like other weapons and items. Gamers can only pick one backpack up at a time; if you grab a second, it will replace the one you’re already carrying. Your backpacks will also automatically be destroyed once it is fully used up.
Players should learn more about the new introduction of jetpacks (aka backpacks) in the Fortnite game.
Introducing a new item that’ll send you sky high: Jetpacks. Jetpacks are part of a brand new item type that coming to Battle Royale called Backpacks. Not to be confused with Back Bling, Backpacks are strictly gameplay items and cannot be purchased as cosmetics. Backpacks will fill an inventory slot, just like a weapon or consumable and have a variety of uses.
These jetpacks can be activated by pressing jump while in the air; however, you will only be able to stay airborne for a limited time before you must recharge. Fortunately, the jetpacks begin recharging automatically when it isn’t being used. You will also not be able to enter Targeting Mode while flying.
