Starting October 20 at 12:00 P.M. PDT, the Pokemon Go Halloween event will be running until November 2 at 1:00 P.M. PDT which will see the arrival of some spooky Pokemon Go Gen 3 creatures.
After a number of rumors surrounding Generation 3 Pokemon potentially coming to Pokemon Go soon. The folks at the Niantic has now finally officially confirmed the news, at the same time as revealing its Halloween 2017 event. Niantic and Nintendo are never ones for missing an opportunity to get people back into the waning Pokemon Go game. With Halloween just around the corner, there are plans afoot to give gamers a reason to jump back in.
The event is scheduled, Niantic says the event will see “an increased number of spooky Pokemon such as Gastly, Cubone, Misdreavus, Houndour, and more,” while “special Pikachu” wearing a Halloween costume will also be out and about. In fact, you can dress up too thanks to the inclusion of a Mimikyu’s Disguise Hat(avatar to wear).
It’s said that “a number of Ghost-type Pokemon originally discovered in the Hoenn region” will arrive as part of the event, including “Sableye, Benatte, and others.” Fans of the Pokemon franchise will be pleased to learn that they can expect the Gen 3 characters from the likes and more to arrive as part of the event. Otherwise, there will also be new additions arriving starting December.
Bonuses for the event include double Candy rewards for catching, hatching, and transferring Pokemon. You will be able to grab special boxes –“featuring items such as Raid Passes and Super Incubators” from the in-game shop.
Halloween is a perfect chance to trot out new Pokemon and new items for existing ones to wear. Two more Generation 3 Pokemon–Duskull and Dusclops–can also be seen in-game in the trailer above. They, along with Sableye and Banette, are the first Pokemon Go from Ruby and Sapphire to appear in Pokemon Go. Niantic says the rest of those games’ monsters will arrive in Pokemon Go “starting gradually as early as December.”
Gastly, Drowzee, Cubone, and other spooky Pokémon are back again this Halloween, and this time, they’re bringing some special friends! Sableye, Banette, and a few other Ghost-type Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn region will be making their first-ever appearance in Pokémon GO. The rest of the Pokémon first seen in the Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire video games will gradually arrive starting as early as December! We hope Trainers enjoy this special Halloween treat. The Halloween celebration will start on October 20 at 12:00 P.M. PDT and run until November 2 at 1:00 P.M. PDT.
Actually, the addition of Gen 3 Pokemon was leaked earlier this week, and another outing, showing more Gen 3 creatures and Pichaku wearing a witch’s hat, followed just days later.
The official introduction means Pokemon Go will revise a Halloween event for the second year running. Players can share the best AR photos they take in-game for a chance to win cool prizes. The Legendary dogs Entei, Raikou, and Suicune are also available in new regions through October 31. In other Pokemon news, the developer of the mainline series, Game Freak, has explained why Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon aren’t coming to Nintendo Switch.
Nevertheless, you’ll have a couple of weeks to take advantage of the new Halloween-inspired theme stuff going on this year, so be sure to get started come October 20th.
